You don't need to carry a painting across town to find out whether it can be saved. Photograph it — front, back, and any damage — and Greg will tell you what it needs and roughly what it costs.

Dow Art Galleries opened in 1935 and has been on Camp Bowie ever since — through the war, through the Cultural District growing up around it, through three generations of the same family. Greg Dow has been doing this work for more than forty-eight years.

A good deal of what comes through the door isn't valuable to anyone but the person carrying it. A grandmother's portrait. A wedding photograph that got wet. A frame that came off the wall. It gets the same bench, the same hands and the same care as anything else.
